Maine Lobster Festival

For the first time in WEEKS the boys finally stopped asking when they were going to see their cousins again because THEY'RE HERE!!

Yesterday we connected with Peta, Brendan, Jordan and Charlie who have arrived for the North American leg of their own odyssey.

The kids all went nuts playing at our campground just inland of Portland, Maine while the adults caught up and shared stories of adventures either side of the Atlantic.

Today we set out in our RVs driving in tandem north up Highway 1.
Just shy of the campground we found for the night at Camden Hills State Park we all spied signs for the Maine Lobster Festival which is rocking on in Rockport.

Having just been talking about getting our hands on some lobster, we piled into Bubble and drove to the free shuttle bus stop which took us to the waterfront venue.

The adults strapped on their bibs and hoed into some serious lobster while the kids made friends with Blackbeard the Pirate who transfixed them with a lesson on how to load a Queen Anne replica with gunpowder and other piratey concerns.

He very kindly shared some of his pirate booty with the four of them (a dubloon each) before agreeing to fire his noise maker (with no bullets), scaring the utter doody out of Dash.

Big time funsies for everyone!
